1949 marriage
I remember the wedding dinner where grandpa Young in fine tradition,
made Uncle Kenneth go to each table and hoist a drink to the men
that beat him in "Cha Ken a Po". I remember when he came
back to the Kaimuki house that night, he was not feeling well at
all.

He used to walk up to 10th Avenue to get a paper. He was an introvert
— he was really going to see Una.
I used to spy on him. When calling on Una, he used to close the
swinging door. I used to catch them smooching in the kitchen.

We had a private ceremony. We didn't have a lot of people, but
the reception was large. It was at the old Lau Yee Chai in Waikiki.
You know how you have to go from table to table to toast at Chinese
receptions – they had to walk him around the yard afer the
reception because he had too much to drink.
