In 1956, the family had grown to 3 boys and a girl. James and Robert were born in the 10th Avenue house in Kaimuki, and Carolee and Douglas were born on Hao Street. Ross would also start his life on Hao Street. Soon after Ross was born, the family would move to Apo Drive.

Kenneth was an electrical engineer employed by the Department of Public Works at Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, the Hawaiian-Chinese Contractors Association of the Society of Military Engineers, and the Honolulu Toastmasters.

Many times Kenneth had to go to Kwajalein for work. He would communicate with the family via amateur radio.

He enjoyed fishing and bowling.

About 1955.
I got my first address book and Dad's entry, in his great handwriting was "Improvement leads to success..." I've remembered that through everything I've ever done. I think he was giving me a hint that I didn't have to "invent" something new for everything, as that was about the time that I wanted to be an inventor.
