Kenneth married Una May Zane on September 17, 1949. They met a year prior when a group of engineers met Una May and her friends. Una May lived in Kaimuki on 10th Avenue – a block from the Youngs – but had never met him before.

They were married in a small, private ceremony at First Chinese Church of Christ in Honolulu. Following the ceremony was a large reception at the old Lau Yee Chai Restaurant.

Kenneth and Una lived with her father, Dr. K. C. Zane, until they bought a house in Aina Haina on Hao Street. With two boys, they needed more room. A few years later and 3 more children, they moved down the hill to Apo Drive, where Una resides today.

I remember the wedding dinner where grandpa Young in fine tradition, made Uncle Kenneth go to each table and hoist a drink to the men that beat him in "Cha Ken a Po". I remember when he came back to the Kaimuki house that night, he was not feeling well at all.
